Bio:

With over 15 years of experience in immunology and vaccine development, Gilles Besin is currently the Chief Scientific Officer at Orbital Therapeutics. Before joining Orbital, Dr. Besin served as the Head of Discovery at Affinivax, where he led efforts to develop several bacterial vaccines, with some candidates in clinical trials now. Before that, Dr. Besin led the immunology platform at Moderna, concentrating on mRNA delivery systems for vaccines and rare diseases, as well as T cell modulation. Entering the RNA medicine field early, Dr Besin collaborated on some of the first mRNA vaccines under DARPA, working with Sanofi Pasteur and CureVac.
